There is an incompatibility between Logic and text boxes as used in LinPlug instruments (most often used for serial number input) on PowerPC systems. This prohibits using of basic Edit menu operations (Cut, Copy, Paste) and also makes impossible to enter certain keys which Logic overrides for it's shortcuts.

If you need to authorize an LinPlug instrument with your serial number and you've are stuck with this issue, we recommend authorizing within GarageBand or any other host you might have first. The license will be valid for all audio hosts on the same system. If you don't have GarageBand installed, you can enter the serial number with help of Character Palette:

1. Open System Preferences from Apple menu.

2. Choose International preferences panel

3. In Input menu tab check Character Palette option on.

4. From Input menu in topmost menu bar choose Show Character Palette

5. In Character Palette you can enter characters with your mouse by choosing glyph and clicking Insert button. This is workaround to Logic's catching of keystrokes. Make sure you enter the serial number with correct case!

6. Press Enter after editing the text field to confirm the serial.
